I was using MCBDS Server Manager before, and it crashed after 4 days of leaving it alone. It forced the mods off of the world; it wouldn't let me put them back on. On top of the Web API not working, I switched to MC Server Manager and haven't had any issues whatsoever. It does full backups and doesn't crash if you leave it alone for a week. The web dashboard is amazing, giving full control over the server from anywhere.
I have been hosting mc server for years and the easiest setup of my life no messing with jar files no java downloads or wrong java version pretty much plug and play worth every dollar easy beginner friendly im glad someone made this about time better than pterodactyl and cubecoders since those can get complicated quick
MC Server Manager has greatly simplified my whole MC set-up. I don't do much with mods, etc. But it is sooo nice to not have to manage the manual update process of a Minecraft Bedrock Server. Even I, a complete novice, got this to work first time. Lots of features I've yet to get into for customisation, but mainly just does everything for me which is exactly what I wanted!

There's no window to click on Linux. It runs as a background service on a machine you already own and you manage it from the web dashboard in any browser, so a headless box or a VPS is fine.
The install options appear on your account page as soon as you've subscribed.
No curl on a fresh Ubuntu? Download the installer from your account page and run that instead.
The installer prints a link. Sign in, check the machine name and click Approve.
The machine shows up a few seconds later with a New server button next to it.
Any 64-bit distro with systemd. Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, Arch, they all work the same way.
There's no Mac version of the app and there isn't one planned. You've still got two ways to run a server from a Mac.

No. The app automatically detects installed Java versions and offers to download the correct one if it's missing, always the right version for your Minecraft release.
Yes. The app auto-forwards your port via UPnP so friends can join without touching your router. For hiding your home IP, a relay routes traffic through a protected server so players never see your address. You can also manually port forward if needed.
MC Server Manager supports Java Edition (Vanilla, Paper, Purpur, Spigot, Forge, Fabric, Quilt, NeoForge and a server jar of your own), Bedrock Edition and proxy networks (Velocity and BungeeCord).
If the process just died, the app restarts it. If it keeps crashing, press Diagnose this crash in the Console tab and the app reads the crash report and the log and tells you what broke in plain words: a broken mod, the wrong Java version, a port already in use, not enough RAM. Where the fix is safe there's one button, like "Disable that mod and start again" or "Switch to Java 21 and start again". Standard includes 20 diagnoses, Lite 5, any subscription adds 20 a month and packs of 50 are £1.99. Your IP, player names and file paths are stripped from the report before it leaves your PC.
